New Director Announcement - Friday, September 20, 2024

The Tremont Park District is pleased to announce the appointment of its new Director, Bryan Cheek. He will begin training this month alongside the current Director, Trina Burge, who will be retiring from the position, ensuring a smooth transition before officially stepping into the role.

With a background in community engagement, youth recreation, and park facilities management.  Bryan is eager to roll up his sleeves and work to build upon the current programs, facilities and community outreach efforts.

The Park District is excited about the vision and leadership that Bryan will bring, helping to promote healthy lifestyles, environmental stewardship, and community connections through high-quality recreational programming.

Please join us in welcoming Bryan Cheek to the Tremont Park District team!

Volleyball Fun 2024 - Tuesday, September 10, 2024

2024 Volleyball Fun


Age/Time1st-2nd grade-- 3:15-4:15 pm

Where: Tremont Grade School Gym

Fees:  1st/2nd   $35.00  Non-Resident: $50.00

Age/Time:  3rd-4th grade -- 3:15-4:30 pm

Date: Oct. 24th to Nov. 21st.    

Where: Tremont Grade School Gym

Fees: 3rd/4th  $40.00  Non-Resident:  $50.00                                                           

 Register online or at the TAPD office during staffed hours  by 9/6/2024

**Note: 1st/2nd and 3rd/4th are different start dates**


For those girls that just can’t wait to play volleyball! This will be a fun stress free environment for the girls to learn and improve in the sport of volleyball! 


Please bring:

  •  a volleyball (with your name on it) 

  • knee pads (if you have them but they are not required)

  • Hair pulled back out of face

  • wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes

Girls Basketball Program 2024

Girls Basketball Practice/Program 4th, 5th, & 6th grade girls will be scheduled by coaches and held at either the Gradeschool Gym of South Gym. For questions please contact your coach or the park district office or Brad Patterson at 309-370-7724.

The goal of the Tremont Area Park District is to provide girls an opportunity to learn and practice the fundamentals of basketball in a structured setting and to experience basketball at a competitive level against other teams their age. Our goal is to prepare the players for junior high and high school sports. Keeping kids active and participating in team activities is essential. Youth sports develop confidence and character and allow kids to have fun.

LAKE FISHING RULES AND HOURS

TREMONT AREA PARK DISTRICT

FISHING PERMITS MAY BE PURCHASED ONLINE, AT THE TAPD OFFICE DURING STAFFED HOURS OR THE TREMONT POOL DURING POOL SEASON. 

 2024 Fishing Rules & Regulations

TAPD Fishing Permits must be obtained from Tremont Park District in order to fish in the Community Lakes.  To obtain a permit you must have a current  Illinois Fishing License or show exempt status. These can be purchased at our office at 22522 Illinois Route 9, Tremont, Il.  Our offices are located in the Tremont Park District Fitness Center building Or at the Tremont Pool .  Hours are posted on this website under the Contact tab. Online purchase is available too.
 

       FISHING HOURS: The lakes are open from Dawn to Dusk   NIGHT FISHING IS NOT PERMITTED

      AGE RESTRICTIONS: Persons under age 16 must be accompanied by a person at least 16 years of age or older when fishing.

     GUESTS  2 household guests per TAPD permit - the guest must have a current Illinois fishing license unless under 16 – not applicable to one day fishing permit

    Ice Fishing permit required for ANYONE ice fishing.

    RESTRICTIONS: Ice-fishing is allowed on a FISH AT YOUR OWN RISK basis. Ice conditions are not monitored by the Park District. Ice fishermen should check ice thickness before going out on any frozen body of water. A minimum of four inches of solid ice over the entire lake is recommended before individuals attempt ice fishing.

    EQUIPMENT LIMITS / REQUIREMENTS: POLE AND LINE FISHING ONLYNo other fishing devices are permitted. The ice angler may use a maximum of two poles or tip-ups with no more than two hooks on each line. All poles and tip-ups shall be constantly attended and kept under observation by the angler. CHAINSAW OR ICE SAWHoles cut in the ice are limited to 12-inch diameter or less.  PORTABLE SHELTERSShelter structures are limited to portable construction of metal or wood framework, covered with canvas, paper, plastic material or similar fabric. Each shelter shall have the name and address of the owner attached, shall not be left unattended at any time, and shall be removed from the lake area by the end of each fishing day. LIFE JACKETS AND ICE PICKS are required at ALL times.

 PLEASE REMEMBER…

Ice may be safe in one spot, yet very thin only a few feet away. Currents, underwater springs, animal activity (beavers) or runoff from local roads and watersheds can all create hard-to-detect areas of thin ice. Remember, for your own safety, no ice should be considered totally safe. Using a little common sense can help you avoid a lot of problems 
 

DAILY FISHING REGULATION SIZE AND CREEL LIMITS

       Largemouth Bass - 3 Fish Daily with only 2 being 12” or smaller and 1 being 15” or greater

Channel Cat - Under 18” 3/fish day and 18” or greater Limit 1/fish day

      There is no limit of white/black/hybrid crappie,  blue gill, redear or sunfish

Park Bathrooms

 
There are public bathrooms at both Cullinan and City Park that are open during park hours from May through mid-October.  
 
City Park Bathrooms are located on the backside of the Pool concessions building on Sampson Street between the ballpark outfield and the pool.  They can be accessed by walking from the main park shelters through the Veterans Memorial and along the fence line of the pool and outfield or by using the sidewalk that runs the length of the park on Sampson Street.
 
Cullinan Park Bathrooms are located on the backside of the building in the parking lot.
 
 
 
 

Fishing Permits

2024 FISHING PERMITS - We have online sales or in-office sales of Fishing Permits.  Fishing Permits are required for anyone 16 years of age and older.  You must also have an Illinois Fishing License.

 

Tremont Lakes Rules and Regulations are posted at each lake.
